Santa brought me a Canon Powershot G9 for crimble. What a camera! Built like a house brick, good looking and slips in the pocket OK. Easy to use (if you have used an SLR).
Took it shopping with the missus and son in Buxton yesterday. Took a few shots of the Crescent. This was may fave.....

Mam Tor
On the same shoot as below we went up to the top of Mam Tor (or Shimmering Mountain). It certainly was shivering at the top. The wind was blowing a hooley again!!
A grey day, so one of my B&W days (again!).

Winatts Pass
I went out for the morning up into the Peak District with my son and my Brother-in-Law. The idea was to get in some photography which we did, but the weather was not kind.
Got these shots of Winatts Pass near Castleton.

Birch Trees in France
Took this shot of some Birch Trees when I was over in France. It has had a little infrared treatment applied in Photoshop.
I like the result. I am sure it will not float the boat of some!!

British Museum Atrium
I was browsing around some of my old pictures and found this one of the British Museum Atrium which I had not noticed before. I like the solitary figure who seems "lost" in the open space with no others around them.

Close Up
The weather here has been a bit lousy recently so I decided to dust off the macro lens and have a bash at some dead seed heads I collected whilst walking the dog. Here are my two favourites.

Roaches Barn
I went out briefly with my brother-in-law taking some shots yesterday. The wind was blowing a hooley so we only managed about 30 mins before returning to the warmth of the car. Anyway got a couple of shot I liked.

I took these shots down in the local wood where I take the dog for a walk. Which do you prefer the colour or the mono version?

Wheels
I went back to the Churnet Valley Railway the other weekend where there was a 1940's weekend on. Whilst I got a few shots of people, the ones I liked best were of some train wheels... sad, I know!!!

Cheddleton Flint Mill
I took these shots near where I live in Cheddleton. They are both of Cheddleton Flint Mill. I can't say I know much about the mill, but I hope to go back and get some more shots and also find out a bit about it.

Mermaid Pool
I went up to the Mermaid Pool near Leek the other day. It was blowing a force 9 (or felt like it!) and was bitterly cold.
I played around with my new baby, the Sigma 10 - 20mm I tried out a few posts below.
Here are my favourite 3.

Churnet Valley Railway
I went to the Churnet Valley Railway on Sunday where they had 5 engines in steam throughout the day. I am not a "steam head", but just thought I may get a few good shots. The three below are my favourite.
